Most of the fleas and ticks in a house are not on the animal. They are in the bedding, the cracks in the floor, the skirtings and the yard where the dog sleeps, at every stage from egg to adult. Treating the pet alone clears the adults on it; the rest hatch and jump back on. The house and the yard have to be treated at the same time, and we help you time it with the vet.
What the treatment does
A residual treatment on the floors, the skirtings, the cracks and the pet's areas deals with the adults and the larvae, and a growth regulator stops the eggs developing so the cycle breaks. The yard and the kennel get the same. The solutions are safe for the pets once dry, and we tell you how long to keep them off.
Empty houses
A house that has been shut up for weeks after a pet lived there can erupt with fleas the day someone walks in: the vibration wakes the pupae. If you are moving into one, have it treated before the furniture arrives.
